This isn’t chicken according to the conventional Indian food sense, where small pieces of chicken marinated are grilled and baked with skewers in a tandoor oven. It’s not even chicken tikka masala. This is a curried variant where this chicken tikka is simmered in a rich, spiced tomato sauce and served with rice. Instead, we’re taking this delicious and spicy taste with our favorite masala sauce in a jar and giving simple, crispy chicken tenders a paint and cook. The ingredient list is a plethora in this recipe, but it’s just things that can be added to the taste parade! Although we’re sure to mix the delicious mint sauce by hand, We’re using the pre-made and store-bought products for the rest, and you can too!
- Crispy breaded chicken (store-bought)
- Tika masala sauce (also available in stores)
- cooked quinoa
- Cucumbers cut into slices or dice
- Pickled red onion
- Slaw (hi, you’ve probably guessed it…store-bought mix!)
To make the mint sauce
- fresh mint & cilantro
- mayonnaise or simply Greek yogurt
- The juice of the lime
There are certainly some home-cooked alternatives to choose from in the realm of crispy chicken and tikka masala or slaw, but are you looking to arrive at your meal quickly and furious? Let’s Make Chicken Tikka Bowls

- Pickled Red Onion
- 2 cups coleslaw that has been shredded
- Three tablespoons mayo
- Two tablespoons vinegar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup mint leaves
- 1/4 cup cilantro leaves
- 12 Cups mayonnaise as well as simple Greek yogurt
- One teaspoon salt
- The juice of the lime
- One clove garlic
- One hunk of jalapeno
- Water to make the sauce thinner as needed
