Apple Waffles

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • Baking powder, one tablespoon
  • Half a teaspoon of salt
  • 2 Tablespoons of granulated Sugar
  • Half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted Butter, melted
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • Two large eggs
  • Peel, core, and grate one large apple


  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the teachings of the manufacturer.
  2. Combine the flour, cornstarch, and baking powder in a large mixing bowl. Add salt, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Combine the Butter, milk, and eggs in a separate mixing bowl.
  4. Stir the ingredients together until they are just combined.
  5. Fold the apple into a half-moon shape.
  6. Use cooking spray or Butter to grease the waffle iron.
  7. Pour the batter into the waffle maker wells, about 3/4 full.
  8. Follow the instructions on the package to cook the waffles until they turn golden brown.
  9. Serve hot waffles with maple syrup, butter, or any other toppings you like.
